ANIMAKER - Procedure Text
Before further do, let me ask you, Do you like cooking sandwich? Cooking can be enjoyable activity if we like it but there are some people lazy to cook or even afraid because they cannot make delicious food. To help them, people who cannot cook can see recipes. When we want to make delicious food, we need recipe because there are steps that can lead us to do it. Recipe is an example of procedure text.
Another example is manual book, manual book is part of procedure text. When you buy a new camera or assemble stuff, in the box, you will find a manual book. When you creates a video in animaker platform, there are steps before we do that to create an interesting video, or do you want download something, they would be a several steps.
Then, what is procedure text exactly?
Procedure text is a piece of text that give us instructions for doing something. Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.
Social purpose: The social purpose of procedure text is to show how something is done through sequence of steps which enable the reader to reach the goal
Purpose: The purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make something through a sequence of actions or steps.
The structure:
a) Goal: showing the purpose
b) Material/ingredients
c) Steps
Language Features
a) Use of imperative: enter, insert, mix, cut, stir.
b) Use of action verb: turn, put, mix, shake, fill
c) Use temporal conjunction: firstly, then, after that, finally
d) Use simple present tense
